Both stores look very good and highlight how Superdrug are really pushing themselves forward.

They have themselves worked on some other sites which are also open. Another site we worked on opens in September/October, a new store at Westfield Stratford, plus many more makeovers in the coming months is all very exciting.

We’ve worked hard to inject some ideas from fashion stores like Topshop and Next to help Superdrug differenciate itself from Boots and the supermarkets.

The store’s been designed to make each department feel different. We’ve opened up the store by installing full-height glazing and lifting the ceiling. Spine walls down the centre of the store creates two distinct zones; a slow-paced Make-up, Skin and Fragrance departments to the left and a more faster-paced Food & Drink and convenient toiletries to the right. We’ve designed a play table for customers to try out some of the store’s cosmetics, feature blips to highlight current offers to ensure Superdrug maintains its good value reputation. A brand new design for Pharmacy to the rear of the store is warm and inviting. Communication areas and a consultation room enables staff to talkk to customers in convenient discreet places. The design is open and perposfully allows the pharmacists to come away from behind the counter and communicate with customers. Fragrance too has had a makeover, Top 5 displays enable customers to see what scents are popular and we’ve made a differentiation in finishes bewtween mens and womens.

Initial response from customers is great and I’m looking forward to seeing the articles in the press next week.

I’ve been working very hard after starting at Dalziel+Pow. I’ve been working with some very exciting new clients for the company and the work we’ve been doing will quickly help shape these companies making them fit for tomorrow’s customer.

I’ve been fortunate enough to have started right from the beginning with our current client, who sadly I cannot name, but they’ve very ambitious and fingers crossed, the work we do will progress to a large-scale role-out for them and help them tackle some very strong competition.

For now, that’s about it. I’ll post some shots up sometime next year – when it’s all out in the open.

So the focus is now based around a central exterior square. Secondary uses, including the cafe/bar and council payment/information area surround this. Tertiary uses, the main event hall, meeting/communal rooms and administration lead from the secondary uses.

To create a greater link, the bridge has been extended past the side of the building and enables users to access the upstairs meeting/communal rooms.

So I’ve attached a few images which I’ll be presenting on Thursday, still 5 or so left to do – so it’s all go getting them done in time.
